Does anyone know what happened to Clifton's ?? Did they go by way of Denim's ?? Sometimes change isn't good. Seems the Village Bar had more lasting power (If it ain't broke, don't fix it). How is the Billiards place doing ??

Does anyone know what happened to Clifton's ?? Did they go by way of Denim's ?? Sometimes change isn't good. Seems the Village Bar had more lasting power (If it ain't broke, don't fix it). How is the Billiards place doing ?? A reader who does not participate on this site forwarded the following information to me about Clifton's Allegedly there was a fire this past spring which has closed them down. Also, Clifton's lost their liquor license for unknown reasons. The person who forwarded this to me stated that the business never really caught on. I was told that part of this could easily be viewed as a failure on the part of the FCP. Apparently Clifton's is not a part of the partnership and could have benefited greatly and been an asset had there been involvement with the FCP. Here is a quote from the email I received. Here's another case where the Partnership is nowhere to be found. Instead of supporting ALL the businesses in town, they leave a gateway, unhelped and unprotected from unnecessary business threats. With the huge lounge atop Clifton's, the SID would have another multi purpose events room to promote to the community. Denims was reduced to having to use that room to attract the illegals for weekend Latino music nights that created too much noise for the townhouses behind it. The person also mentioned that the pool hall is not doing well at all. In my opinion the pool hall should have looked to Main Street if it wanted to succeed.

ahh the Freehold CENTER Partnership... C'mon, now, I like to place blame on them as much as anyone else, but there failure has nothing to do with the FCP.

With that said, I usually am not as critical of the FCP. In this case, I will ask the question= should the FCP be doing more?

Was Cliftons considered to be in the Special Improvement District?
To bad, we ate there a few weeks back, nice place great food!
How the Boro failed may be through lack of a Business Development / Chamber of Commerce to support business out side of the SID's. Why is everthing so Main Street Focused?
Should there be multiple development zones? Park Ave near FoodTown and Throckmorton heading down to wards rt 9? How many Lumber and Brickyard's do we need?
