Last night, myself and another person attended the Freeholders meeting. The Freeholders remembered us well from the last meeting they had here in Freehold.
Freeholders MacMorrow and Cliffton have been excellent to deal with. MaCMorrow stated that they should have a resolution, pertaining to schools ready for the next meeting in Freehold.
We even invited Ms. MacMorrow to join us in Trenton in the near future and she said she would try.
So to all of you with the yellow shirts, you are being noticed and we do have the attention of the Freeholders.

Very good, Brian. It is wise to pitch tents with Barbara McMorrow. Not only did I enjoy serving with her on the Council, but we've been close family friends for many, many years. We even shared the same aunt.
Barbara and Patrick are genuinely good people that you can really trust. Everyone loves Barbara, because she really cares about people. She is totally sincere. She loves Freehold Borough and Freehold Borough loves her. If she can help us, in any way, she will. Her job is complicated, because - not only is she the only Democrat on the Board - but she also understands that her decisions impact the entire county, these days. It's harder to show favoritism.

Marc [ "It is wise to pitch tents with Barbara McMorrow"This is the problem with our current Council. Last time I checked there are FIVE Freeholds, A truly wise public official serving on the Boro Council would have a broader vision, not be so obviously partisan, and work on pitch tents with all of our Freeholders for the betterment of our Boro. I’d like to hear about one successful project from our council. There has been ZERO Boro revalorization project in the last 5 years. Nothing has been done to vastly increased ratable’s, or drive desperately needed revenue increase into our Boro’s bank account? Fact is, since our property has been reassessed two years ago, our property values have been on the decline. Maybe you should go pitch a tent on the railroad tracks with the rest of our council.

Why so angry, "not Hawkeye?" Fact is Barbara IS from here - knows the town and is a good liaison to have to the Freeholder Board.
Please do not tell us that each of the other Freeholders do not have a particular warm spot for their own towns. They certainly do. Ted Narozanick, a Republican Freeholder, also had a special caring for his Democrat controlled Freehold Borough, while he was elected to that office. So, your partisan accusations are hogwash and designed to stir up much about nothing. We, on council, work well with ALL the Freeholders, but it doesn't hurt to have someone like Barbara McMorrow as a go-to person on that board.
As for what our town is doing or is not doing to increase your property values, I ask you this - have you been attending Council meetings, regularly and expressing your concerns and ideas?
If you have been following the town then you know, for example, that we have a nice large ratable replacing the old Exxon Station on Spring Street. It's on the way. You will also know that a new OVER 55 ONLY residential development is just getting underway on a tract of land that was previously unsightly on the Southwest end of town.
Might you also be awar that Schoor & DePalma Engineers just completed a Vision Study, fully financed by a grant, to outline a bright future for the downtown area? It is about to come before the Planning Board very soon. Perhaps, the County will work with us to erect a Parking Garage in town? It's been discussed with ALL the Freeholders.
Yes, we face some difficult challenges regarding the impact of illegal immigration on our town, but that hasn't stopped us from working hard to address the needs of the present and future. Not everything happens overnight, but we do the best we can and we don't sit on our hands.
If you want to learn more about what Freehold Borough is working on, please feel free to contact me or anyone else on council, anytime. I can be reached at 732-866-4077 or by email at stffgpr2003@yahoo.com. Maybe you wish to join a committee and take a more active role in shaping Freehold according to your ideals.
Thanks,
Marc

Not Hawkeye:
Just one other important point. The casual advice I was sharing with Brian, was directed at his PEOPLE group's government relations. Obviously, he already has sought Freeholder McMorrow out as well as Freeholder Clifton.

Her job is complicated, because - not only is she the only Democrat on the Board - but she also understands that her decisions impact the entire county, these days. It's harder to show favoritism. Marc Speaking of Barbara, talk about a small world. I first met her at the Freehold Borough Council re organization meeting. She thought I was familiar and asked if I was one of her students. After a bit of talking, and telling her my name, she realized that she went to school with my father. I was familiar due to the resembelance I have to him. Barbara also knew my dad's wife. They all graduated from Asbury Park together. At another point, Barbara also lived about two blocks from me when I lived by the shore area. At last nights Freeholder meeting, the Freeholders were invited to go to the former Steinbach's building on Cookman ave. That building has been a focal point in the revitialization of AP. Barbara said she was going and remembered the old store that was there. My grandmother worked there for many years in the candy department. As I mentioned, I was with a fellow Boro resident. I was describing the changes that I have seen in AP and Ocean Grove. This person could not imagine what the Grove was like back in the 1980's. People only lived there if they had to. It was the land of the newly wed and the newly dead. Of course, that topic led to our town and how there is no good reason for us to not move ahead. Both of those shore towns have made great comebacks from much lower degredation than what we have in the Borough. AP has a wasy to go, but there is a great deal of promise. To somewhat address not Hawk. Going to the Freeholder meetings has been interesitng. It is a much larger scale than a town council meeting. There are 53 other towns also petitioning the Freeholders for more of something. I have seen in a very short time, many people asking the Freeholders for help, usually in the way of money. One interesting thing, the Freeholders found out that the Feds are cutting about a quarter of a million dollars from the voc-tech schools. the county does have a magnifcent system. Education funding is not easy for anyone.

Obviously, he already has sought Freeholder McMorrow out as well as Freeholder Clifton. Marc Fact is Barbara IS from here - knows the town and is a good liaison to have to the Freeholder Board. … And now the Truth, Born in Asbury Park, and now Lives in the Township because she moved from the Boro, very weak point! How did Neptune received $750,000 for open space from the county! What has the Boro received? Which Republicans are on any Boro Committees, and what party were you in before? Don’t give me your sass and now who is Hogwash. As for what our town is doing or is not doing to increase your property values, I ask you this - have you been attending Council meetings, regularly and expressing your concerns and ideas? Sure, when we have a council that is interested in bona fide development project that act as a revenue engine. Today we see more red bricks and illegal aliens lining our sidewalks. Do you want to take credit for the success of the Rug Mill? A waist of RCA funds, and the boro is paying for it.If you have been following the town then you know, for example, that we have a nice large ratable replacing the old Exxon Station on Spring Street. Must have missed the Public Hearing on this one, not that it would have made a difference, like the Rug Mill! That was a done deal before it went for a public hearing. Pray your Spring Street works out better that the office building not going up on SO. Street, across from St. Rose. You will also know that a new OVER 55 ONLY residential development is just getting underway on a tract of land that was previously unsightly on the Southwest end of town. Might you also be awar that Schoor & DePalma Engineers just com Great, the additional votes needed to defeat the spurious school budget that just passed. My Great Grand Children will be 55 and over when the last unit is sold.Might you also be awar that Schoor & DePalma Engineers just completed a Vision Study, fully financed by a grant, to outline a bright future for the downtown area? Schoor and DePalma just put $25k of Boro grant money in their Bank account. Good for them, what about the Boro! It is about to come before the Planning Board very soon. Perhaps, the County will work with us to erect a Parking Garage in town? It's been discussed with ALL the Freeholders. I lost your point about this parking garage. Is this for the new Township RT 9 retail shopping corridor that everyone is looking forward too. Is the Boro building a parking garage for the Bicycles of illegal aliens that line up and down Main Street and Throckmorton? You really expect folks to get off Route 9? For what, a cheap day laborer who works for nothing, and a drive by of the wondrous Boro parking garage?Yes, we face some difficult challenges regarding the impact of illegal immigration on our town, but that hasn't stopped us from working hard to address the needs of the present and future. Not everything happens overnight, but we do the best we can and we don't sit on our hands. “Face some difficult challenges” Dude, better stop sniffing your own Kool Aid. This council created the challenges. Now this council will never face up to the reality that the job has become too big for them, and it’s time to move on! The Ted Mack Original Amateur Hour days are over Mister. [/i]“feel free to contact me or anyone else”. Are you “Secret Squirrel”, Hush Hush, Wink and Nod? If this council was “ALL THAT”, I should be reading about the GREAT ACOMPLISHMENTS in the APP, or the local NT rag. GREAT ACOMPLISHMENTS need issued for public consumption. Not “shhhh call me and I’ll tell you things off line, because we do have a plan, only we can tell everyone, because then, everyone will know our plan”.
How about the Council takes a more active role on shaping freehold? , I thought that’s why we elected you all! This is an admission that the Council is tired, moldy and gone stale.
You and the council need get this proud track record in the freaking papers Dude!

[ " Maybe you should go pitch a tent on the railroad tracks with the rest of our council.
Unfortunately, there is an ordinance that prohibits camping on railroad tracks. The council will have to go to Turkey Swamp Park like everyone else.

So, Mike Wilson was born in the Bronx!
Barbara taught at the Boro HS for years! Patrick, her husband is a true Freehold resident. Both were on the governing body of our town. If you've served on a town's governing body - you ARE special.
Anyone from around here sound like Councilwoman Sharon Shutzer? Born in West Virginia. Yet, she's as Freehold Borough as one can get! Her husband, too, is also from a long line of Freehold Borough residents.
Stong argument.

Sorry about my having good intentions. Just thought a personal and more tailored approach would be appreciated. With 100's of my postings over the past several months, I doubt that I, personally, have left off very many details on many important items.
Oh well, throw courtesy out the window and welcome the harbingers of mistrust and hopeless predictions.
One has to know when one is licked. Reading the tone of this response, I really doubt that there is much I can offer to improve your opinions of me or the Council. So, we'll just have to move on with your feelings intact. Pity.
