You are absolutely right about using the board to get a paper done for school.
Before the board was sabotaged several years ago by rogue operatives from the LLA, I was looking at how message boards are used to channel anger for those who participate in them.
People will write things that they would never say in person (several psychologists have researched it in studies). They will say even worse things if they can write things anonymously.
The whole Councilman LeVine controversy may have been a result of this tendency. (At least this is what I am arguing in my paper). He probably never would have talked about "promiscuity" and Latinos in that way if he were speaking publicly, but writing it gives people a sense of protection -- even if they are putting their own name to it.
So thank you People dudes and dudettes -- you are contributing mightily to my college education. My college prof loved the Councilman LeVine stuff and how I am applying it to my research.
Now I have a public policy class and I am looking to write a paper on the funding issue of Freehold Borough schools. All my Profs. agree that FIGGY Dude is deranged and troubled (great stuff for a fledgling psychologist).
The Kelso dude is on an entirely different plane of evil. He is Chrisopher Walken evil. He is evil -- he knows it -- and he revels in his evil genius.
So the bubbling cauldron and cesspool that is the PEOPLE board is the best place for psychological research. I caught a break when I joined this group.
