newstranscript.gmnews.com/news/2007/0314/Front_Page/109.htmlThe above link is the piece from this weeks News Transcript from managing editor Marc Rossman. It is clear that the NT gets it. The APP recently had a couple of comments on the recent fiasco and really dropped the ball. In the APP, Bill Handleman made a feeble attempt to address the issues in the Borough, He came across more long winded than anything else. Not long after, an editorial appeared in the APP talking about the same things and again, dropped the ball. To be fair, the APP does cover a larger audience and has to pick and choose a little bit more, but the APP continually fails to address the internal needs of our town or the root causes and solutions that are needed. Instead the APP only put forth a part of the picture. The News Transcript, as demonstrated in the above article, does get it. This piece from Mr. Rossman should be a must read for every activist and politician. While Trenton and Washington fiddle, towns like Freehold burn. We need solutions and help, not outside agitators who know or care nothing about our town. I wonder how many people from New York and Newark will be at the schools meeting trying to seek solutions? But why do that when a trick pony show is so much more fun and grabs more media attention? The News Transcript-- Freehold Borough's news paper

If people are living in the United States illegally, they have a right to voice their opinions, but they have no right to vote and they certainly have no right to tell anyone to leave an elected position that was gained through a legitimate voting process. I had to copy & paste this quote for emphasis! I thought it was very well-said. Blunt and to the point. FR

The News Transcript-- Freehold Borough's news paper Mr. Rossman deserves credit for takign the time to get engaged in the real issues -- and understand what is happening -- just below the easy surface story. Kudos to him, and the transcript.
