For those, who may think the situation in our Borough schools is in need of attention. Take heart. Things could be much worse:
BREAKING NEWS: Search warrant issued for Asbury Park school offices Posted by the Asbury Park Press on 02/22/07 BY MICHELLE SAHN
Post Comment ASBURY PARK — Law enforcement officers from the State Police and the state Division of Criminal justice carried out a search warrant on the Asbury Park Board of Education offices this morning.
Board attorney Alan J. Schnirman confirmed that the search warrant was executed this morning by the state Attorney General's Office at the school district's central business office on Lake Avenue this morning.
The four-page document was signed by Superior Court Judge Paul F. Chaiet.
The search warrant also covered the ITC technology center for the school district, Schnirman said. He declined to say if any records were seized by officials.
The attorney general is examining numerous allegations made last summer when the school board suspended Superintendent Antonio Lewis and a state intervention team began calling the shots.
Last week the 600-member Asbury Park Education Association cast an 82-11 vote of no confidence in the high school administrators running the school.
My sister and brother-in-law both teach there and it has been a three ring circus the past few years.

I love Asbury Park. I really do want to see that town move forward. But, I will say what I have said before,
Freehold Borough is NOTHING like Asbury Park. When I do hear the two compared, I cringe.
Now Long Branch is different. A chess pool is a chess pool, no matter who's house they steal.
