Well, that wasn't too long for the latest owners of the Hepburn House. The current owner bought it Oct. 2005 for $860,000. It is currently assessed at $670,100.
42 East Main Street for $1,290,000 between Market Yard and the Sheriff, bought in Oct 03 for $410,000 currently assessed at $645,000.
57 South for $1,299,900, bought for 350,000 in Dec. 2002, currently assessed for $531,500
2-8 Main Street for $1,850,000 - where the liquor store is - also contains the sporting goods store, and I think the Bread Box (or whatever it is called) - don't know the last sales price - but it is assessed at $1,078,200.
NOW, reviewing these sales prices against some of the tax assessments, it would appear that some are overpriced, or that the tax assessments are low.
