28 graduate from Citizen Police Academy

WHAT: The 12th annual Citizen Police Academy graduation.
WHO: 28 residents graduated Wednesday.
WHO RUNS IT: The program is offered in cooperation with the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office, the county Police Academy and the county Prosecutor's Office.
WHAT IS IT: The Citizens Police Academy strives to build cooperation and understanding between law enforcement and the residents they serve through classroom discussion and group interaction.
Residents selected for the 10-week program receive classroom instruction on topics including crime prevention, crime scene investigations, narcotics awareness, the various divisions of the Sheriff's Office, international policing, emergency management, women in law enforcement and the U.S. Marshals Service.
SPECIAL PRESENTER: Sheriff Oxley was joined by U.S. Marshal James Plousis, who presented a program on the U.S. Marshals Service prior to the graduation ceremony.
GRADUATES: Edward Marchetti of Aberdeen; Wilbur Bishof and Trudie Dodig of Atlantic Highlands; Anita Dedalis of Colts Neck;
Pat Yanchurak, Rosemary Aburto, Francisco Aburto, Patricia Yoczis, Scott Saylor, Theresa Potenza, Grace Soden, Carol Ann Stevenson, Nicholas Trotta and Linda Giacalone of Freehold;
