Although I am a life-long registered Republican, I have always reserved the right to dispute my party on issues that oppose my views. Our current problem with illegal immigrants is the result of President Bush's false assertion that illegals are doing the work Americans won't do.
On the plus side, the president should be commended for his steadfast position on our fight against global Islamic terrorism. To those who feel their civil rights are being abridged, stop, think and examine the record. During the past seven-plus years, our country, led by Bush, has been free of terrorist attacks.
The opposition party has been erecting obstacles at every turn to demean the president and his efforts to save us from people who blow themselves up to make a statement and who are committed to destroying our freedoms. This battle is not without casualties. We pray every day for our outstanding, all-volunteer military.
