References to the word "freehold" or references to the town?
Certainly "My Hometown" is about Freehold.
Unfortunately, Born to run is probably a reference to freehold. I am sure there are others.

We should all be glad that some clever lyricist out there hasn't morphed our towns name in a poetic attempt to describe why some uninvited guests have come to town from some faraway places - "FreeLoad."

Freeload is a bit old!
I have another one for you. Instead of " The Board of Chosen Freeholders" try "Board of Frozen Cheeseholders." It rolls off the tough very nicely! ;D

I thought I was being original.
You might be the one left holding the cheese if the Cheeseholders hear what you just called them - Mr. Cheeseholder's shine box boy. ;D

Marc, You got me good on that one ;D
I do have bad news for Calliope. Being that I am a musician, you two are giving me fodder for a new song.
What is worse, is that I am not a CLEVER lyricist.
Freeload never gets old!

I found another one about Freehold....
Wild Billy's Circus Story by Bruce Springsteen Album: The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle Date: 1973
This was inspired by the Clyde Beatty/Cole Brothers circus that visited Springsteen's hometown of Freehold, New Jersey every summer.
Springsteen was intrigued by the constant travel of the circus, a lifestyle similar to his as a touring musician.
The elephant trumpet was simulated by a tuba played by Garry Tallent.
The last line is "All aboard, Nebraska's our next stop." Springsteen released his album Nebraska in 1982.

In the song "Growin' Up" by Bruce Springsteen, there's a line about his old High School, which is Freehold Borough HS. Can someone find the lyrics?

In the song "Growin' Up" by Bruce Springsteen, there's a line about his old High School, which is Freehold Borough HS. Can someone find the lyrics? I stood stone-like at midnight suspended in my masquerade I combed my hair till it was just right and commanded the night brigade I was open to pain and crossed by the rain and I walked on a crooked crutch I strolled all alone through a fallout zone and came out with my soul untouched I hid in the clouded wrath of the crowd but when they said "Sit down" I stood up. Ooh-ooh growin' up The flag of piracy flew from my mast, my sails were set wing to wing I had a jukebox graduate for first mate, she couldn't sail but she sure could sing, I pushed B-52 and bombed 'em with the blues with my gear set stubborn on standing I broke all the rules, strafed my old high school, never once gave thought to landing,I hid in the clouded wrath of the crowd but when they said "Come down" I threw up Ooh-ooh growin' up I took month-long vacations in the stratosphere and you know it's really hard to hold your breath. I swear I lost everything I ever loved or feared, I was the cosmic kid in full costume dress Well, my feet they finally took root in the earth but I got me a nice little place in the stars And I swear I found the key to the universe in the engine of an old parked car I hid in the mother breast of the crowd but when they said "Pull down" I pulled up
