ALBERT M. "TED" BECK, 63, of Allenhurst died Sept. 8 at Tisch Hospital, New York City. Born in Butler, Pa., he had lived in Freehold and Colts Neck before moving to Allenhurst. Mr. Beck was the owner and operator of McKelvey’s Furniture Store, Freehold, from 1970 to 1987. He was also an owner of Freehold Electric, Freehold, from 1980 to 1992. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Deal; and a member and former house committee chairman of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 1454, Freehold. Mr. Beck is survived by a daughter, Jeanine L. Beck of Oceanport; two brothers, Robert L. "Bud" Beck of Freehold and George W. Beck of Holmdel; and his former wife, Linda J. Beck. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Chapel, Freehold, followed by interment in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.

I remember "Teddy" Beck quite well. He was a longtime customer in my parents old Coffee Shop. He was quite a hoot.

Bro, I had no Idea ted passed away, I did see his brother Bud passed this summer. Ted was a one of a kind, nothing but fond memories of those cold gray saturdays spent working the grill at the coffee shop, scrambling eggs and enjoying the banter with customers like teddy.

Bro, I had no Idea ted passed away, I did see his brother Bud passed this summer. Ted was a one of a kind, nothing but fond memories of those cold gray saturdays spent working the grill at the coffee shop, scrambling eggs and enjoying the banter with customers like teddy. Teddy was a real pistol too. I think he loved to come in and drive dad's temperature up. But then, who didn't. Plus -- it was not real hard to do! I often tell Jill -- life was much simplier then.
