Nevius, Henry Martin (1841-1911) — also known as Henry M. Nevius — of Monmouth County, N.J. Born in Freehold, Monmouth County, N.J., January 30, 1841. Major in the Union Army during the Civil War; lawyer; member of New Jersey state senate from Monmouth County, 1888-90. Member, Grand Army of the Republic. Wounded several times during the Civil War and lost his left arm. Died, of a stroke, January 30, 1911. Interment at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown, N.J.
