In Memory of Mike Buchalski
Michael R. Buchalski, 48, of Freehold met the face of God and the hand of his father on February 9, 2006 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township and lost the most difficult trial of his life.
He was born in Philadelphia, Penn. and had lived in Freehold since 1982. He was a 1979 graduate of Rutgers University, New Brunswick
He was a partner in the firm of Buchalski, Reynolds, and Brodowski, a commercial real estate appraisal firm in Freehold.
He was a Member of the Appraisal Institute, Chicago, Illinois; a senior member of the American Society of Appraisers for Real Property; a New Jersey Certified Tax Assessor, a state certified general appraiser in New Jersey, New York and Tennessee; a member of the Central New Jersey Chapter of Appraisal Institutes where he served as Vice President in 1999 and President in 2000 and a current member of the chapter’s Board of Directors, Chairman of the Freehold Borough Planning Board, a coach in many St. Rose of Lima and Freehold Township athletic programs, and a member of the National Golf Foundation.
Mike had an incredible gift of intelligence, memory, words, and making friendships. His first love was his family, then work, and of course sports.
Surviving are his wife, Cathy Kennedy Buchalski; three sons, Justin P. LaHaye, Jeremy M. Buchalski, and Jon-Martin Buchalski, and a daughter, Elizabeth M. Buchalski, all of Freehold; his mother, Mary Noce Buchalski, Pleasantville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bernard and Dee Buchalski, Berlin, and Martin B. and Debra Buchalski, Ventnor; a sister and brother-in-law, Doreen and Richard Salimena, Stone Harbor.
Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday and Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Memorial donations to Sunrise Optimist Club, PO Box 351, Adelphia, NJ 07710 for the benefit of Camp Quality would be appreciated.
