To be fair, open, and honest with the community, I want to give the following information. If you go to this site, www.njsba.org, and you look on the front page, under the heading of "What's New", one of the headings is for the 2007 Candidate Kit. There anyone could find all the information they would need if they have an interest in running for the school board this year. There will be several board members who will be up for re-election, and I want to be clear that I am supporting each of them for their re-election bids. However I want to be sure that anyone interested, knows where to go to get the necessary information they would need to run for the school board. Not only that, but that site is a great resource tool for information on BOE rules, regulations, news, resources, etc etc. Andrew DeFonzo

There are nine members of the School Board, every year, three of the nine spots are up for election, and each term is three years. I realize that last year there were 4 spots that were elected, but that was due to an opening on the board that had to be filled (which is why my term is only two years as opposed to the others who ran last April). This time around, the three spots that are up for election are currently held by Stella Mayes, Audrey Evans, and I believe the last one is held by Annette Jordan. Next year, the three spots will be the ones held by myself, Jim Keelan, and Adam Reich. In two years, the spots currently held by Frank Gill, Vicki Muller, and Ron Reich will be up for election. And then obviously the rotation simply continues along that pattern. While I am here, one last reminder about tonight's meeting, 7pm in the Park Ave School Library. Obviously the big item of the night will be the presentation on the recent survey that we did about the budget and referendums. The Agenda is currently posted on the district website, www.freeholdboro.k12.nj.us and will also be available at the meeting tonight. I will be contacting Liz O'Connell again today regarding changing the structure of the meeting so that we can have discussion on the survey from the public right after the presentation. If I find out for sure, I will post a notice on this site. Again, I ask all of you to come to the meeting, talk to your neighbors and friends, and ask them to come to the meeting. Come with an open mind and let's take the first steps towards a better understanding and relationship between the BOE and the residents of this town. I look forward to seeing everyone there tonight.
