Not exactly about our town's schools, but helpful to Freehold area students and their parents looking for some college financial aid.
CLUB OFFERS SCHOLARSHIPS
FREEHOLD: The Evening Optimist Club of Freehold is offering scholarships to seniors of class 2006 in amounts of $500 and $1,000. Applicants must reside in communities within the Freehold Regional High School District. To apply, students must be in good academic standing and have been accepted to a two-or-four year post-secondary school. Applicants must submit a short essay about themselves and their goals, and two letters of recommendations — one referring to their academic accomplishments and the other to their community services. Students should contact their guidance counselor or (732) 730-0661 for applications.
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS
FREEHOLD: Applications are being accepted for the $2,000 scholarships given by the Freehold area branch of the American Association of University Women. The scholarships are for female students at least 25 years old. Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program and must have completed at least 60 credits, or be enrolled in a graduate-degree program and have completed at least one semester. All applicants must be residents of Western Monmouth County. Applicants must have maintained at least a B grade average.
