Who will win in these primaries? anyone have thoughts, opinions, or a sense for that?
Obama will be running into the NJEA up there. With so many experienced, brass-knuckle, interest groups on the dem side -- this should be interesting.

I think McCain will win on the republican side. I would like to see Obama trounce Hillary, but I think she will get it in this state.

The more important question is...what candidate really wants the backing of New Jersey? This state isn't known for voting in the best leaders to run our state, how are we going to pick the right person to run the country?
However...McCain will get the Republican nod, and in a minor surprise, Obama will beat Hillary despite her "home state" being right next door (and it kills me to even suggest that New York is that...woman's...home state - see, I can hold my tongue!!)

See the video with McCain’s reaction here. Among many of Hernandez’s offensive quotes are these: “I never knew the border as a limitation. I'd be delighted if all of us could come and go between these two marvelous countries.'' And Mexican Americans from all generations should “think Mexico first.” McCain must fire Hernandez to have any chance at winning the Republican presidential nomination. Literally, McCain could lose the election if Romney worked this correctly.

Juan Hernandez is the modern day snake oil salesman. Once it becomes widely know that McCain is associating with this person, it will be the end of his presidential run.
It is sad to say but it appears that McCain will win the nomination.

In Holly's bizzaro world Hillary will allow Bill to be cloned so that his clone can run for President. Here's to the good life.. Maybe they can clone Bella Abzug to be the "CLONE" Bill's first lady. At least shes a real New Yorker, not an opportunistic carpet bagger!

Lisa, I have to agree - Hillary was elected so NYers got what they deserve ... But there is a difference between Geo and Ted in comparison to Hillary. Geo and Ted live here, and lived here before seeking office (in the case of Geo, being appointed - not sure if seeking is the right term for him - this year at least). Hillary moved to NY with the sole intention of running for office.
But if it makes you happy, I'll sign the petition to impeach Geo and only let native Freeholdians seek office here. Sorry Ted.

Hmmmm, Avoidance on the Juan question huh? I don’t think the country is ready for women president or at least not that one and Obama, that’s almost a joke. ;D If the dems put up a normal candidate they couldn’t lose.

thanks Lib...100% correct.
Geo and I moved here to raise families and plant roots in the Boro. Clinton moved to NY simply because NY was the "low hanging fruit" to the Senate. If California, IL, or any other state presented a path to Washington, She'd have moved there. I have traveled through most of NY State, and can tell you that out side of NYC, Hilary is not well regarded at all! Once you get beyond the Catskill region, NY State is very Conservative and Republican. Rochester, Syracuse, Buffalo, western NY state is NOT Hillary Country
RFK, to his credit, moved to NYC as a statesman Senator,a nd at least established social programs like "Model Cities", .. that focused on LONG TERM improvement of the Quality of life in NY first, Politics second. I Truly Remember RKF...Hilary is NO RFK (not even close).
Lisaw, I am sure you re attempting to issue a great point, I'd like top understand your post better!

Besides eligibility, the other reason Hillary chose New York was because that state has very liberal residency laws for candidates. Coming straight out of Washington like she did required a state that would elect her as well as one that she could run in. Fiber, are you saying that outside the city they would never have elected Hillary? Goes to show us all how dopey city people are! And LS, that petition would also require the impeachment of the Mayor and Marc. They were not born here either!

AS afar as women and minority presidential candidates go, I was hoping to see Condoliza Rice run. She is a class act and could have been a very good candidate.

Berg, what do you have against Condi? She is an inspirational person with some good old fashioned conservative values. In context of the discussion of a minority or female president, that will more likely happen with a Republican candidate. Somebody like Condi would be a great candidate. Even more so than Colin Powell.

When was the last time we looked at the candidates for President of the United States and honestly thought, "these really are the best leaders in our country"??
Why is it assumed that Hillary Clinton is the best person to become the first woman President? Will someone please tell me where all this "experience" she claims to have is coming from? She makes it sound as if she's been serving as an elected official for decades!!
Why is it that we continue to allow candidates to get elected without having to go into detail about how they will make the "changes" they continue to promise? This goes for both sides of the aisle!!
Why is it that everyone grew sick and tired of Rudy Giuliani supposedly overplaying the "9/11 card", but we never tire of police and firefighters using 9/11 as an excuse as to why they should be treated better than anyone else? Sidenote...while it's important for the country to move on from 9/11, it's not a good idea for us to forget about it.
Why is it we continue to reward candidates who run campaigns that are more focused on smearing their opponent rather than discussing the issues that are affecting the country?...again, both sides of the aisle.
How long will we continue to let these things happen?

Brian,
I hate to burst your Bubble, but Bush is tax and spend. He is not a republican. He may have conservative values, but he is no small government type of guy.
Put it this way, do you know who are glad that this Bush came to the whitehouse? Presidents like Jimmy Carter and Herbert Hoover can breather a sigh of relief. There is no competition compared to no. 43: he is truly the worst president.

And blind faith? Sorry I belong to the party of Lincoln, yha know...HONEST ABE, not Fibber George the ARTIKA'LET "I fully understand those who say you can't win this thing militarily. That's exactly what the United States military says, that you can't win this military." Bush — on progress in Iraq, Washington, D.C., Oct. 17, 2007 "You know, when you give a man more money in his pocket—in this case, a woman more money in her pocket to expand a business, it—they build new buildings. And when somebody builds a new building somebody has got to come and build the building. And when the building expanded it prevented additional opportunities for people to work." Bush —Lancaster, Pa., Oct. 3, 2007 Theres more...but this is enough for most people to understand our sorry loss. Bush has seriously lowered the Presidential Bar. "excellent leadership we have now!" Brian, I'm missing something. If your talking about the Whitehouse how do these three words fit into the same sentence.
