must have been a bitter cold day for mayor for life and sims. they are walking the street today looking very worried. looking at my street no one was answering, and the few that did come to the door were barely polite. i heard about a few angry "get off my porch" incidents! mr kane must have been doing his police commissioner thing on bond street hang'n with his home boyz. i heard the buzz from the main street crowd chit chatting about causals leadership ability, and that his clinton karizma will bring us a new mayor for life to represent all humans that call freehold home.2 days 2 go y'al
Well -- I have walked way too many doors in my life -- and I can tell you that their is never an excuse to be rude to a candidate. If you don't like them, or do not want to voe for them, you can tell them politely that you are supporting the opposition, you thank them for running, and have a nice day.
It take real guts to get out there and knock on doors and talk to the people. It is also very illuminating.
I am glad to here that the Mayor was out there hitting the doors. I suspect, as is the practice, that they were selecting doors with homes that have identified democrat voters. (You don't think these sophisticated campaigns waste time knocking on doors of the other party -- though in a small town -- I am sure Mike Wilson hits the doors of everyone he knows, irrespective of party. Right Mayor)
Don't forget, no matter who one supports -- all deserve real credit. Most people will, at best, send an angry letter or e-mail, or post anonymously on blogs. Most would never get out and do the work it takes to serve.
So, irrespective of the winners and losers, the candidates who have conducted themselves with honor -- irrespective of party, all deserve a big hand. IMHO
