Last time I checked, fear-mongering candidates don't get very far in the grand scheme of things. Just a word to the wise... You know who you are. -S

What do you think about the appointment of an illegal alien, Casa Freehold and LLA member, non-resident sitting on a committee that recommends policy? Are you for or against? By the way, I was going through old posts and I agree with your first post: I know that we also have things in town that residents wish to change and I don't disagree with them. But like any town, it has its positive and negative aspects. I am sure of the fact that if we keep pushing, we can fix those things we don't like. Nothing is impossible. You just have to make a concerted effort to realize that and do it. freeholdvoice.proboards46.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=1186146587&page=1

I would find it appalling if there is an illegal immigrant on a committee.
However, what I find more appalling are people accusing other people, before they know the facts.
Whatever happened to "innocent before being proven guilty?"
I don't think it's fair to accuse Mr. Reyes of being an illegal immigrant when you, in fact, do not have proof that he is. Get my drift?
That is not classy my friend.

MRPR,
I want to put a bit of a challenge to you, and anybody who wants to see more variety here. It is apparent that many participants have taken a stand against the current governing body.
Why don't you help out and provide info on the three incumbents? Instead of complaining about other people and their views, show us some good things about the councilmen who are being challenged and show us where you agree with the Mayor.
That would be very welcome and bring back some balance to the board. This is a much better approach than seeing people attacking each other and engaging in a cheesy smite fest.
If you do not do this and take the high road, Then I really don't want to hear any complaints about this site being a GOP board. It is an open site and balance is not only welcome, but needed.
As the admin I provide the playing field. If one team does not show up, it is not on my head. It is on yours. ( the readers)

I for one want to carefully review the platforms of Mayor for Life Mike and Councilman Kane and Sims.
I also want to hear what Candidate Fiber/Miller would do differently. If his whole campaign is about bashing the Mexicans then I do not see what he has to offer different than the others. I have not been very impressed with him so far.
To be honest I have read about the Mayor for Life quarreling with the immigrant community but never Kane or Sims -- I remember Sims because he was appointed after the advocates went after Councilman Levine dude. I know almost nothing about Kane.
So here are some issues of interest to me:
*** Bike paths on Main Street and South Street (I know this is my own selfish thinking). By the way, there are lots of Mayor Mike signs all over town. The machine is churning out its supporters!!
*** What plans does each candidate have to improve the downtown area?
*** How can we live together better as a community? We are really perceived as a diverse and divided community.
*** Is there any way we can make better use of our parks? I have biked and picnicked in every park in the borough (I think) and many of them seem underused. Can we get lights at the athletic fields? I sometimes bike in Tighe Park in Freehold Township -- Its like going to Yankee Stadium. I am waiting to see A-Rod in the parking lot.
*** The Reyes issue seems pretty insignificant to me but I admit my knowledge of politics is minimal -- Most of them make me want to gag starting with the A-hole in the White House.
It is on these issues that Casual will cast his vote.
What does Fiber/Miller dude have to say about these items?

This is very funny Holly.
Its true the papers do not cover local elections very much. I cannot remember a story outlining the positions of the borough candidates.
Who are the Kane family? Are they the Kennedys of Freehold?
