Ohhhh...someone deliberately did some serious digging to get the goods on old Mitt.
Great way to make a statement about the "extent to which illegal immigrants permeate the US economy" and - at the same time- to discredit and silence a noteworthy critic of illegal immigration.
Boy, they had to dig up someone in SUCHITEPEQUEZ, Guatemala to create this farce of a story.
I'm afraid that it is Mr. Saenz, the company owner, that needs to be charged for employing illegal immigrants. Romney was duped, just as we ALL are when we go into a restaurant that employs illegal aliens in the kitchen.
Should Romney have inquired into Saenz hiring practices, probably. But, with such an active life, I can see how this one got by him. Now, if he went looking for "directs" to work for him illegally or knew, upfront, that Saenz wasn't hiring lawfully that would be something else. This has not been shown.
We all make mistakes, in the course of a day, and I would not judge Romney's will to get the job done by what happened here. This is tabloid journalism garbage.
By the way, I am not a supporter of Romney in '08. There will be better overall candidates running for President.
