I carried through on my promise to vote for Darryl Brooks. The other boys did not play nicely and need to be shown that issues and not mudslinging should win races.

Calliope, which quote from the endorsements do you agree with most? Which helped you decide your vote?
"Menendez favors a conditional amnesty for illegal immigrants, Kean opposes it"
"Ethics aside, Menendez also has one of the most liberal voting and spending records in the Senate — one that is out of step with most New Jersey residents, particularly those starved for tax relief. He also has a dismal record on illegal immigration. Americans for Better Immigration, a group that lobbies for stricter enforcement of immigration laws, gave Menendez an "F" for his votes on immigration issues — the only member of the New Jersey congressional delegation to receive a failing grade."
"On immigration, Menendez accepts reality: 12 million illegal immigrants who make up a significant part of the nation's economy simply can't be rounded up and deported. Rather, he endorses the McCain-Kennedy legislation that would offer a route to citizenship for illegal immigrants, provided they undergo criminal background checks, pay back taxes and learn English."

But what was the issue or issues that lead you towards Menendez?
I only ask since you offered up how you voted, and you did make statements one way or another about the candidates. Given that most people on this forum have a strong opinion about immigration, was that a factor for you? (As Menendez is no doubt a but softer on the issue)

I will admit, in light of past writings from her, I am surprised at Calliope's change of heart. But, that is the beauty of the vote-choice.
While I voted different, I am glad to know that Calliope voted and that part of those reasons for her choice were due to the wealth of information on this site.
