He was planning to attend a reunion of league alumni that will take place April 8 in Freehold. In the article, Ray expressed his enthusiasm about getting together with players from the “old days” and he was happy to share his memories about his time in the Little League. Ray, who had a serious heart condition, said that looking at pictures from his playing days made him feel like a “little athlete all over again.” Kevin Coyne, who is a member of he Freehold Little League’s Board of Directors, recently spoke with Ray about the upcoming reunion. “His enthusiasm was contagious,” Coyne said. “I was really looking forward to meeting him, We were going to have Luke throw out the first ball and I am so sorry he will not be there with us.” (snipped)
