Freehold Dudes and Dudettes:
It is election time and I am back to prognisticate and pontificate.
I have been out of touch with the place I love most dearly in the world -- the misbegotten borough of Freehold.
But, no matter how long I stay away one thing remains the same.
Ted Miller is running for Borough Council.
He sure does like a whomping.
He has as much chance of winning a Council seat as Sarah Palin does of being the next president of the United States.
You heard it here first -- the annual humiliation of Ted Miller will occur on the first Tuesday of November as it does every year. I mark it every year on my calendar.

Casual, I am happy you're back. But I wanted to respond to this particular post. While it does indeed fall under the guidelines/rules for posting (i.e., no cause for deletion), I simply want to remind folks that Ted is a person who wants to make a difference, and he is a person with feelings like everyone else. I ask for people to refrain from insults and character attacks on any local candidates.
Thanks.

Well - I think you sell Sister Sarah short on her Presidential chances, casual.
Nonetheless, while it is easy for some to ridicule. People like Mr. Miller put their name on the line in an effort to provide democracy and to serve their fellow citizens. In that regard, all candidates deserve respect for the effort they make to be part of democracy that too many take for granted.
The view from the cheap seats of some dudes and dudettes is pretty good. But life gets a lot more challenging when you have to man up, drop the anonymity, and subject yourself to public inspection. Even those with whom I violently disagree, deserve my and your respect for stepping up.

Freehold Borough Dudes and Dudettes: I am moved by the defense of Ted "Never Gonna be Councilman" Miller" by Kelso Dude and lovely Lisa. But as the psychopathic killer in "No Country for Old Men" tells one of the men he is hunting in the famous telephone scene -- You Know How This is Going to End...If you want to see Ted's fate on election night see this clip from the movie -- Ted is the guy with the cowboy hat. www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4kO99Sg1fs"If the road you followed brought you to this of what use was the road?" -- This is the question Ted will be asked after yet another electoral death. Ted is going to lose again... All that awaits are for the votes to be counted. I am still registered in Freehold and I am coming back to vote against him. I think we are falling in love all over again lovely Lisa.
If only my work in Philadelphia did not take me so far away. I would ravage you like a Philly Cheesesteak.
Alas, we are starcrossed.

Casually Thinking this is No Borough for a Councilman Ted Miller In reference to the highlighted part, I think what you see is less a support for Miller and simply a defense for decency toward one another. Keeping things civil and decent is in the best interest of everyone in the borough. Personally, I thank all the candidates for stepping up, it isn't easy for any of them.

Mike -- re-post when the word is verified. I am not saying it is untrue -- and if true I agree it is completely fair political game. (Don't know whether people care or not -- but it is fair game)
Just need you to verify before we post.
Thanks

That said, there is at least some truth behind what mike posted. Obviously it is not something that is a deep dark secret. That said, I would urge real caution on this. It does pertain to a persons personal life, family and choices. By comparison, we do not delve into the personal lives of Millers opponants on this site. ( if we did, we could have a field day) I view that as part of the high road we take here.

Thanks guys -- I appreciate the understanding.
As I have said previously, if his kids are outside the district, that is a fair point for political discussion.
Obviously, I urge caution and respect in every way when we discuss families here. (Particularly kids) However, it is a fair question to ask a political office holder why his kids are not in the town school system. Presidents have had to answer that same question.
