I noticed that the fcp is referring to the Christmas tree as just the tree. In a few week when they light the menorah, will that be referred to as the holiday candle? Will it be referred to as the lighting of "the candle" like we will have the tree lighting tonight? here is a good song.....

Nope, Brian, that's totally wrong. The release I wrote did indeed refer to it as a Christmas Tree Lighting.

Nope, Brian, that's totally wrong. The release I wrote did indeed refer to it as a Christmas Tree Lighting. Lisa, I do believe you. But, I have noticed that the FCP is mostly referring to it as a tree lighting. That is what it says in the email I received yesterday, the banner across Main Street as well as places on their web site. I did see it referred to as the Christmas Tree lighting in one place on the FCP site. I guess we can blame the APP of the omission? ;D For the most part, I am just having some fun with this topic of what to call the tree- or the holiday candle in a couple of weeks.... The song I posted still rocks.

Brian, I am so with you. -- I'm a Jew and I always believe to "keep the Christ in Christmas." To me, "holiday season" encompasses Chanukah, Christmas, New Year's and now Kwanzaa too. But a Christmas tree is a Christmas tree when it is adorned as such. Without its dressing/finery it's just a tree!

But a Christmas tree is a Christmas tree when it is adorned as such. Without its dressing/finery it's just a tree! Your views are right on the money and say what really needs to be said on a serious note. On a less serious note, I am just having fun with those who are too PC and those who are also too sensitive on the other side. It is hard to pick up the tone from a post sometimes, but I do it with light hearted fun. I get a kick out of calling the menorah a holiday candle. It is really absurd to do so. That highlights how ridiculous it is to call the Christmas Tree a holiday tree, as some places do, even though, we are in the midst of a holiday season as you rightfully pointed out. Back on a serious note, all should be respectful of the varying beliefs. In the end it is a wonderful time of year.

Mike, I'm surprised you didn't see Councilman Schnurr out there this weekend selling trees and wreaths on Sunday. And the Knights also had the Columbian Club Christmas Party for the Children on Saturday, which was very well attended. Plus - there was even a blood drive on Saturday at the K of C. This was one of the big weekends for the Knights of Columbus in Freehold as far as charitable events, and they are very proud of their efforts and how many people they have supported.
Isn't that wonderful?

Mike, I so agree with you. Not only the K of C, but the Elks, Legion, VFW, churches, and so many more. What a truly magnificent community. I never enjoyed such an abundance of good people before in my life before I moved to Freehold.
Thank you so much for your Christmas wishes - and same to you and your family. I love this time of year!

Mike, Lisa and Fiber,
Good follow up on all the events. It is one thing to post about upcoming events, but it is always better to hear what people thought of them and how successful the events were. I really wanted to go to the K of C events, but was stuck working.
