Great poll Brian. ahem... most people are onlookers on this site, not participants, so a poll seems to be worthless.

FREEHOLD — The Borough Council approved three resolutions and an ordinance Monday night memorializing plans that will allow the town's popular Kruise Nights to be held this year.
The resolutions dealt chiefly with parking, security and alcohol consumption.
One resolution authorized an agreement between the borough and the Freehold Center Partnership, an economic development organization that co-sponsors the vintage automobile events held the last Thursday in May, June, July and August. It also included an agreement that each licensed restaurant in the downtown area must provide their own security to prevent customers from leaving the premises with alcoholic beverages.
A second resolution established the parking and traffic regulations for Kruise Night, which delineates where and what kind of vehicles may park in show areas, and sets a $150 fine for violators.
A third resolution authorizes agreements with Freehold Township police and the
Monmouth County Sheriff's Office for officers to provide security during Kruise Night
events.
The council also adopted an ordinance Monday allowing Mayor Michael Wilson and the council to set special parking and traffic regulations, close all or parts of streets to traffic and establish penalties for violators during special events such as Kruise Night.

ReadBetweenTheLines wrote:Conviently omitted from the article was the fact there will NO area set aside for Motorcycles to park. Some of these bikes are worth more than than the custom cars there.Banning alcohol on the street is a step in the right direction. I haven't gone to Kruise Nite for over 6 years due to the overbearing police presence. Way too many local, Twp, County & State Police collecting overtime for no good reason other than wild stereotypes and "unnamed sources reporting the potential for biker violence".Know this: there are more fights & knives, razors & box cutters carried at the Hispanic Heritage Festival that was held than all the Kruise Nites for a whole summer. If friends who moved away want to re-visit Federici's, we'll go but that's it. Anyone who rides a Motorcycle who spends a dime in Freehold Center has a hole in their head. The Council & the Partnership have made their feelings clear.

People moved to the area, knew the racetrack was there and still bought or built their houses and them complained about the noise. Same with the airport. If they didn't like it they shouln't have moved there and like you said Voice, avoid the area, go out, etc... sheesh!

When coming home from work that evening, i simply avoid the downtown area, that simple! Anyone complaining, or unhappy about Kruise night, don't sit home and whine about it, go to a movie or take a ride to the shore and take a nice quiet walk on the beach that evening. I don't hear any complaining about Antique fest, or SanGennaro. the streets are closed for that also, but i guess the complainers LIKE the artsy fartsy stuff. I don't go to antique fest, but I do think its good for the community. All community events benefit Freehold, you can't pick which ones you like. Better yet, the whiners should come downtown on Kruise night, grab a hot dog or sausage/peppers/onions, and take a stroll around the old cars and notice all the people having a good time. Maybe you'd enjoy it
