This is very good news considering how bad the car looked after officer Schwerthoffer was extracted from it.

Cop hurt in crash to leave hospital
FREEHOLD: An on-duty patrolman injured in a two-car crash five days ago was expected to be released from the hospital today, Lt. Mark Wodell said.
Patrolman Richard Schwerthoffer has been at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune since Friday night, when he underwent surgery for a broken left leg.
Schwerthoffer was injured when his marked police car collided with another vehicle about 9:45 p.m. at West Main and McLean streets and then struck a tree.
"It was a pretty scary episode, but he'll be OK," Wodell said.
The patrolman, a six-year veteran of the force, was driving west on West Main Street with his car's overhead lights activated when he collided with a vehicle that had entered the road from McLean Street, which has a stop sign.
No summones have been issued, but the accident remains under investigation.

Man still "critical" after Rt. 36 crash
An accident victim from Atlantic Highlands remained hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday, two days after his car vaulted over a cement median in Middletown and landed on the opposite side of a state highway.
Robert Giannone, 59, was being cared for at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he was taken following the accident Monday night.
Police on Tuesday said they were trying to determine why Giannone lost control of his Lexus as he drove east on Route 36 and vaulted over the median near Appleton Avenue in Middletown.
The car came to rest on its roof on the westbound side, police said.
Middletown police were looking for witnesses and would like anyone who saw the accident to call investigating officer Cpl. David Best at (732) 615-2045.
A traffic-safety officer could not be reached this morning to comment on the investigation.
