BOE meeting tonight, Feb.26th

There is a BOE meeting tonight at 7pm, Park Ave School library. We are coming into the school budget season, so there will be some discussion tonight as to the budget timeline. Also, today is the last day that the proper paperwork has to be filed for anyone who wishes to run for the school board in the upcoming April elections. Paperwork as to be submitted to Roni Wolf by 4pm today. Information can, again, be found either on the districts web site, or at www.njsba.org

There is a BOE meeting tonight at 7pm, Park Ave School library.

There is real value in attending this meeting this evening. I hope you all go and bring an advocate along to understand why our schools are in trouble and why a survey in town strongly points to illegal immigration as the cause.

I, myself, will be meeting with the Mayor, Borough officials and an ad hoc committee of the rental property advisory committee to further review recommendations. Advocates - NO WE ARE NOT ADOPTING THE HAZLETON ORDINANCE NOR ARE WE "DEPUTIZING" ANYONE (though we might train employees what to look for at ALL properties). And, yes, we are making progress in tightening up code enforcement to go after the chronic abusers - landlords AND tenants - as we should! At our meetings FF seemed to have no problem with the overall concept, by the way. I'm sure he'll be true to his word on that.

Also, tonight, is a meeting of the Historic Preservation Committee. I'll catch the tail end of that one.

Tomorrow is MAPLEWOOD. ADVOCATES - NO CREDIT FOR A DIVERSITY INITIATIVE? FF is going along, too. Hopefully, to participate and not spy.

Thursday night is a Personnel Committee meeting for me. Busy week on behalf of our town! Wish me luck!
