newstranscript.gmnews.com/news/2008/0130/Letters/030.htmlThis is a very nice letter. This is the essence of why small town life is so special. Municipal clerk went out of her way for couple Ijust read the article about Linda Cottrell's retirement ("Clerk Serves as Conduit Between Town, Public," News Transcript, Jan. 16, 2008). My husband and I were very fortunate to have metMrs. Cottrell when we wanted to get married back in 2005. We were in somewhat of a rush to get married and, of course, we waited until the last minute to get our paperwork in order. We wanted to get married on the day we met. Well, due to short notice (less than three days), we were told that it would be impossible to be married on that day. Lo and behold, an angel came to our rescue. That angel's name was Linda Cottrell. She overheard our dilemma and immediately stepped in and handled all of the arrangements to have the marriage performed byMayorMichaelWilson on the date we requested. I cannot tell you how lucky we were to have met Ms. Cottrell. She made our dreamcome true. It is very rare to find people who will go out of their way to help someone like that. Freehold Borough will be losing a valuable employee. We would again like to thank Mrs. Cottrell and congratulate her on her retirement. We wish her all the best that life can offer. She certainly deserves it! Annette and Joseph Costa Freehold Borough
