PEOPLE commends rental property recommendations
As a spokesperson for PEOPLE (Pressing Elected Officials to Pre-serve our Living Environment) of Freehold Borough, it is with great pleasure that I can write on behalf of many Freehold Borough residents who are very happy with the recent recommendations made by the Rental Property Advisory Committee. These measures are long overdue.
Maureen Haley, the chair of the group, and all of the volunteers who dedicated so much time to this endeavor have really earned the heartfelt thanks from the residents of Freehold Borough. We know that the committee took its time in researching these issues, looked at what other towns are doing, spoke with many different professionals and tried to put forth the best product that will benefit all of our town.
These recommendations are a win-win situation for all parties involved. Both the affected tenants and the surrounding neighbors will gain a much-needed boost in enhancing and protecting the quality of life that we all deserve. Any town would be foolish to not have these measures in place.
With all of the undeserved and negative publicity that our town has received, these initiatives are a great way to start off the year on a positive note. The ball is now in the hands of the mayor and Borough Council. We should all hope that all of the recommendations are adopted.
The message must be loud and clear to any slumlord who would degrade the investment of the homeowners - deviant behavior will not be tolerated. PEOPLE will be watching this issue very closely.
Those who would degrade our quality of life will not have a part in the very positive future of Freehold Borough. There are many dedicated volunteers throughout this town who are working hard for a good future here. The rental board has shown that in abundance.
