I thought it a good idea to have the Historic Project Review Application process reside on the PEOPLE board for future reference...
When seeking to make modifications to Historic District Properties in the Borough of Freehold:
An applicant needs to complete the paperwork for the planning board, zoning board or construction office as appropriate.
If the property is located in the district they also need to complete the Historic Project Review Application to submit with the other paperwork.
The HPAC receives a copy of the applicant's complete paperwork.
The HPAC reviews the application within 14 days of receiving an application. We schedule reviews for our regular monthly meetings unless the timing of a submittal would require us to convene a review outside our regular meeting schedule.
We document our review in a written report that goes to the appropriate board or office to be used in their approval process.
The HPAC is also available in an informal capacity to consult with a property owner when they are formulating their plans before they submit an application.
The HPAC can help identify distinguishing architectural features, degree of integrity and appropriate treatment of the subject property.
Samantha Daesener in Borough Hall is the main contact for all related questions and submittals.
