A couple of weeks ago, I was at a school fundraiser at NYC's P.S. 87. There was a heck of a lot of games, rides, vendors, etc. I do not kow how much money they made, and whether it is such a pittance that our own FB would scoff at it. But it could go a long way to getting back some of those recently lost programs at the school...
Here is how it was advertised:
Just Kids Street Fair PS 87's got it all, from rides - including Pirates of the Caribbean - to cotton candy and sno-cone booths, spin art, inflatable hoops, a rock climbing wall, dunk tank, giant slide, book sale, International Cafe, performances by kids from 87's award-winning afterschool programm and more. Proceeds go to support the school. Rain date is June 3rd. [917.476.9891; http://www.ps87.info]
