ARE YOU AN ASPIRING NEW JERSEY IDOL?
(Freehold Borough, NJ) -- If you have aspirations of singing your heart out on the way to fame and fortune, enter into the Freehold Idol competition sponsored by The Freehold Center Partnership (FCP), as part of its Summer Concert Series. FCP has launched a statewide talent search for the "Freehold Idol." Auditions will be held on ten consecutive Wednesdays, beginning June 13, with the exception of July 4th. The auditions will be held from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Gazebo, 10 East Main Street, Freehold.
All contestants must be pre-registered and be a 2007 high school graduate or between the ages of 18 and 27 years. Auditions will only be open to the first 200 applicants, so registering early is strongly recommended. All entrants will be required to show proof of residency and age. Registration forms to audition can be found on the website www.allenconsulting.com . There is a $5.00 non-refundable registration fee for all entrants.
FCP will provide the sound system; however, contestants must bring their own background CDs for musical accompaniment and be prepared to perform a three to five-minute song. One winning "Idol" will be selected at each audition night from the pre-registered contestants. The first place winner from each audition night will compete to become "Freehold Idol" in the final competition on Thursday, August 23 at 7:30 pm.
The first place "Freehold Idol" winner will receive three hours of studio time to record a demo at the Monmouth Academy of Musical Arts in Morganville, a cash prize of $500 and a three-day/two-night cruise for four people. The second and third place winning Idols will be awarded cash prizes of $250 and $100 respectively. All three newly crowned Idols will star in the last three performances of FCP's summer program on Wednesdays, August 29, September 5, and September 12 from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Gazebo.
